A slightly deeper cut that was bleeding, I'd apply pressure using a paper napkin, paper towel or kleenex, whichever was handiest & apply pressure until it stops bleeding. Then I'd wash it with soap & water, dry the area off thoroughly & put on some ointment & slap on a bandaid.
