I've never broken a bone by accident. I've had my jaw broken on purpose before (during surgery)... | Broken bones:
I hate Paul McCartney and the fact that he is still going strong (even pretending to write symphonies, yeah right) while John Lennon is dead and George Harrison (excellent songwriter!) is underappreciated. Ringo may not be that talented but he added something (not quite sure what...) to the group. *** bill: I think she was just expressing how awesome she thought he was. ***mark: but you're just reacting to that one line bill quoted. If you listen to the rest of that song (and others), you'll realize that John saw people not believing in religion as a good thing. ***jzp: you don't need historians, man. Just listen to the music :) | Which Beatle was coolest?
I seem to heal more slowly than a lot of people from cuts and bruises, though I'm not usually "laid up for a while." I've never had a broken bone. ***steve: it's not necessary to pay detailed attention to others' healing rates. If nobody has ever said to you "gawd, I can't believe your nasty bruise/cut from we went hiking/camping/hang-gliding still hasn't healed yet. My body cast was off weeks ago...", you probably heal normally :) | when I hurt myself (scrapes, bruises, broken bones, not sickness) I heal...
In order: lack of scent, softness, price (I don't stand there and calculate the value for small purchases like toilet paper). Recyclability?? I don't even want to know... | When buying toilet paper, the most important factor is
It really depends on how stupid I would become. If I would become a burden to my family and society, no question, I'd take the year. Even if the loss were more moderate, I'd have to really think about it. It's one thing to be born unintelligent; it's another to become that way, and not be able to function as well as you used to, and have your friends and family remember the old you and be sad. | Scenario: You have a disease that every expert tells you will kill you in a year unless you take a drug that will make you permanently stupid for the rest of your life. Do you take the drug?
I had asthma as a kid, and was very sensitive to fur, pollen, dust, etc. I haven't had an asthma attack in years, though. When I was really little, I was allergic to milk, wheat, and eggs, and severely allergic to many nuts (as in, I went into anaphylactic shock after eating a teaspoon of peanut butter when I was 2) but I gradually overcame most of those. Now all I am allergic to is some nuts, including cashews and peanuts. | Do you suffer from any allergies?
A musician that I really idolized became a regular at a restaurant where I waitressed. I waited on him several times before I got up the nerve to introduce myself and ask if he would listen to my demo. That was extremely brave of me considering the fact that I was about to pass out from nervousness. He was really nice, listened to my demo, made many helpful comments about it, and encouraged me a lot. We also chatted about music and stuff in general many times after that. I don't think I have ever done anything really courageous. Courageous to me would be something like risking your life in order to serve others. ***kadai: I've done that "cut off from hurtful people" thing, too, and that sure is tough. *** bill: that was a great movie! ***lisashea: now it is, thanks for the idea :) | What do you feel is the most courageous thing you have done? Why? (and how do you define courageous?)
Hmmm, I wonder why "7" was the most popular answer. Either this site attracts especially beautiful people or especially unrealistic ones :) ***I noticed that too. I'm 24, not 25. It's claimed I was 25 the whole time I've been here... *** yeah. It's not a big deal, I was just saying I had noticed it... | Rate your physical appearance on a scale of 1 to 10:
How about "none of the above?" I don't particularly like German traditional music, which is the only one with which I am truly familiar. Um, since you expanded it to include ethnic-influenced, I guess I'd say African. I've liked some stuff by Peter Gabriel and Paul Simon which had African influence. | My favorite "traditional ethnic" kinds of music are (this includes 'heavily influenced' groups and musicians)
It would just depend on too many things. However, I think that even if a particular workforce would resent employees with different backgrounds being introduced into the company, it should still be done, for reasons other than immediate productivity. | Are organizations more productive with a workforce that shares the same background or one that has diverse backgrounds?
