| 58 | Prob. not any better, in either job. One of my jobs involves looking after an art department, so if I were doing my managers job I'd be teaching - which I don't think I'd do well at! But I'd make the department tidier and more organised than it is, things would get done on time!

Loads of people who don't look like punks could say there is some punk influence in their life. What does "Do it yourself attitude" mean? Being mean and not helping others? They may appear to be like this but they're not all. I think I get the gist of what you are asking: Why would beautiful young people want to look/behave like angry nasty people? Some people aren't lucky enough to have love and attention from an early age, so in some cases it could be due to this. For others it's peer pressure. For others, they just like it. When young, we like to rebel, to work out what values we really stand for.
