And no one's spoken to the aliens.... ??? I'm the only one...?? | Do you think there's a possibility that an advanced ancient civilization such as Lemuria or Atlantis once existed on earth, but has been forgotten? If so, what would you imagine it to be like?
Well, some 10-15,000 years passing, and them vanishing beneath the ocean (center of the atlantic or pacific), I'd think it would be rather hard to find traces, especially the way humanity basically destroyed so many cultures that might have had proof, such as the spaniards melting down the gold of the incas and destroying mayan records and such. Burning books was a common thing to do not that long ago, and the library of alexandria was destroyed. We still haven't really explored our own oceans that well... And there are some weird things around the world that could be considered traces, but the media (westerners anyway) seems to ignore it. Have you guys heard of the underground city found near Okinawa? It was found in 1995, and the media over here really didn't say anything about it. The Japanese scientists admitted it was a city, but most of the western scientists were saying it was natural. Just because it was underwater didn't mean it's Atlantis or anything, but funny how so many "scientists" seem so scared of the truth. If you look it up online, there are pictures, and this one of a huge staircase... well, it's clearly not natural... I was pretty amazed I hadn't heard about it around here back in 1995. There's a lot of stuff like that all over the world, a lot of weird legends and things that exist, but the people in power seem to hush it so it really makes me wonder sometimes. Then there's Nan Madol, and a legend by the locals says that there are cities built under the present ruins and that the people who built them had a technology where they could move stones through the air like a feather; something to do with sound and vibration. But not many people seem to even have heard of Nan Madol, and it's clearly another wonder of the world. Oh, and was watching the news the other day (so the media's not ignoring this which is cool).. they found a sunken city in the Mediterranean just recently. I guess it sunk around 300 a.d. I think they said. I don't think this is Atlantis or anything, but shows this kind of thing actually happens a lot. How common it is for cities to sink. It took us this long to find something that sunk 2000 years ago in a populated place like that. Imagine how much more difficult to find something that disappeared some 15,000 years ago smack in the center of one of the major oceans by a major earth catastrophe, not just a moderately strong earthquake. I don't know. Who knows. I just think people write things off too quickly as if we just know everything there is to know now. That's pretty funny considering not more than a few generations ago, we still thought the sun revolved around the earth. | Do you think there's a possibility that an advanced ancient civilization such as Lemuria or Atlantis once existed on earth, but has been forgotten? | 33 | I have to vote for Gore, because I can't support a president of a free country that doesn't believe a woman should have a right to choose if she wants to give birth. There are many things I like about Bush, but oh well. Too bad for him. That is most important, because if I ever by some accident got pregnant (I am very careful not to), I would not want to have to worry (I do not want children). A man that can't understand that it's not his position as a man to decide such things, probably can't understand many other things. Two bad we only get 2 choices, but such is the nature of this messed up world. It's about time we get more women in office. | Bush or Gore?
I think in general, most women are too smart to want to run for president. Still, women handle things very differently sometimes, so I wonder if we'd be better off with a woman as president or not. Women are generally less violent, etc.. or at least they don't get into fights over stupid things as often. | Bush or Gore?
Al Gore was on Futurama? Well, that is pretty cool of him. Wish I would have seen it. I think both their names are pretty sad, though. Gore and Bush. Maybe someone's trying to send subliminal messages... | Bush or Gore?
Yes ILJ, I agree!! "Personally, I couldn't care less"... see that is the problem, no one cares anymore it seems, and we're probably going to end up losing all our freedoms if people don't start caring soon. well, I really hope that doesn't happen. | Bush or Gore?
No, I wish. I think churches are very beautiful, but I don't know anyone who goes and have no one to go with. I'd feel weird going alone. Not too into organized religion, but I do feel harmony with the creator, and all churches and things of that sort do exude his presence usually. It's funny. No one taught me about god when I was a child, and the first time I went to church (I was 9), I wouldn't kneel. it's just I didn't see the point because no one had explained why to me... Actually, I like tibetan buddhist temples where they chant and meditate. Those are fun too. Kind of more spiritual, actually, although churches are usually very beautiful. | Do you attend church / place of worship?
It's odd. My interpretation of church is that the social aspect is very un-spiritual, but the actual place itself really is. Church can seem very boring, but the few times I went when I was older, I was totally connected. Maybe because no one really taught me about god when I was little, and I had to find him on my own. I think I connected more after my dad died, that's why I perceive God as male even though he is most likely both sexes. It was like my father was watching over me from heaven and then he just kind of transformed into THE father. I have a connection now where as a child, I did not even think about him. I went to church with my grandmother (major catholic... she like knows the pope... probably why my mom raised me with no religion), and I had the most moving experience. It was funny too, because they gave me the bread and wine or whatever it is they do, and I have not even been baptized or gone through holy communion. They aren't supposed to do that are they? My grandmother does not even remember that I am not baptized. I think I've only been to church a total of 10 times my whole life, maybe less. But it does not really matter. I don't think things like church and baptism really matter too much, because the world is the church, but I appreciate those things, I guess cuz they haven't been force fed to me. And such things really are breathtaking works of art. Look at all the spectacular cathedrals in Europe... and even those cute little cosy churches are wonderful. They just have an aura about them. I don't really understand why people don't like to visit more often. But then, the human atmosphere is generally very hypocritical, so I do understand. People that go to tibetan buddhist temples seem more involved, but who knows. well, sorry to ramble. Been up all night and guess the lack of sleep is showing. | Do you attend church / place of worship?
My boyfriend is in the SCA, although he hasn't participated in a while. | Do you attend church / place of worship?
I like all animals, but monkeys are major trouble makers. Plus, I have too many animal children already. Spider monkeys are very cute though. | Do you have a monkey?
