| 43 | We have certainly removed Saddam from power. I agree that it would be desirable to "stabilize things." The question is, "Just how do you do that?" Do we send out American troops to get shot at so that fewer Iraqis get shot at? Is there someone we can kill or something that we can blow up that would result in "stabilization?" No question about it--a stable Iraq would be better for the world than an unstable Iraq. The important question, I think, is whether it is possible, and whether it is reasonable to believe that American troops can make it happen. If you believe they can, the next question is, "What should they be doing differently in order to make it happen?"
