HELLO!! READ what I wrote, Brian. Again. And again... the first two sentences of this reply, which are quoted exactly as I wrote it. I did say you sounded ignorant of SOME dangers of the job.... so no, I did not lie. And just because I say you sound ignorant does not mean that everyone thinks so.... it's my observation. So therefore, it can't be a lie in the first place.

Oh! You figured me out, Brian! I'm just a bloodlusty woman who can't wait to put holes in people.

I already gave you some stats like you asked, Brian. I'm not going to do more of your homework for you. Your turn to come up with stats... and don't forget to state the source you are quoting.

It isn't? I thought we were talking about the mentally ill having access to firearms. Stay on point.

But not all schizos are violent. I just don't think that simply having ANY kind of mental illness should instantly preclude you from owning a firearm.

What are your thoughts on the Virginia Tech shooting?

So if my opinions and observations are lies, then so are yours... You do not know that more guns will lead to more dead officers, so you are lying. And to say that you are not ignorant of any of the dangers of the job is ridiculous. Until you have actually been a police officer, you don't know what all of the dangers of the job would be. You don't even realize that in a lot of parts of this country, calling a police officer a 'cop' is disrespectful, and even insulting. Or maybe you do.

See above.

No, you weren't. We are talking about mental illnesses and you suddenly throw out an illness that isn't.

Someone that sick would have a hard time getting a firearm anyway, since they'll either be in a hospital or on drugs so powerful they can't get out of the house. And for the record, epileptics do not have visions of gnomes burrowing into their brains.

Now you are getting ridiculous and beginning to lose your cool. As for your question about which illnesses, I am not a supreme being who can make that kind of call. But I would suggest that violent schizophrenics, severe bi-polars, and anyone diagnosed as sociopathic or any other 'no emotion' type illness.

So now that we've come to some sort of accord in our conversation, now you wish to bring in another (albeit somewhat related) argument to try and re-fan the flames? Aren't you having enough fun arguing with Dab?

Bloodshed is not attractive, nor is it desirable. Unless it's a case of them or me.... and then I'd be glad to make 'them' bleed. I could never adopt the liberal train of thought that I "could never kill another person, no matter what". I have to strong a survival instinct, and my little girl to protect. And as for being a Conservative, no, I'm not. Haven't been to church in years, don't believe in 'organized' religion... according to that link to that political survey you (I think it was you) posted several months ago, I'm a Libertarian. And I do not believe that we should just indiscriminately arm anyone over the age of 18. But I also do not believe that removing guns from our country will lead to lower crime rates. There might be fewer drive-bys in LA, but that's only one area.

What are your thoughts on the Virginia Tech shooting?
1174Depends on my mood... medium rare to medium well. WITH a beer and some horseradish, of course! How do you like your steak cooked when you go out to eat?
1175Dell.What brand of computer do you own and/or work with?
1176Other.... my mail is delivered to my mailbox at the end of the sidewalk leading from the front door to the edge of the lawn. How do you receive your mail from the postal service?
1177Dr. Pepper, Cherry Coke, Mr. Pibb, Wild Cherry Pepsi... haven't tried the other two. Please rank these vaguely similar soft drinks.
1178I wonder why the hell criminals in prison have more rights than law-abiding citizens.

Why are there locks on the doors at the 7-11? They are open 24 hours.

Why is Barry Bonds popular?

Why did the survey creator use 'unfortune' instead of 'misfortune'?

Why does my offspring ask 'why' to every fudging thing I say?

Why does Kyra Sedgwick wear such clownish-looking lipstick in 'The Closer'?

Why does the media report so much bad stuff, and yet won't report hardly anything good that happens?

Why is my Focus getting such crapty 'in town' gas mileage?

Why are there FIVE layers of wallpaper on the walls of my living room?

Why are cigarettes still legal?

Why won't our politicians get their balls together and tell the Saudis we'll give them $30 a barrel for their oil, and if they don't like it, they can kiss our ass? We have Texas and Alaska.

Why don't our politicians get their balls together and tell Big Oil's lobbyists to screw off, and put more funding towards alternative, renewable fuels?

Why can't we all just get along?

Why has the price of Romex suddenly gone through the roof the last six months?

Why aren't child molesters neutered and sent to live on an island by themselves?

Why is this God-forsaken wide spot in the road such a close-minded community?

How the hell did I get so FAT?!?
Is there anything you ever wanted to know but never got around to asking?
