I think it promotes irresponsibility amongst teenagers especially as it is now being sold over the counter here. I can understand how it would be needed however if the pregnancy was a genuine mistake but if that was the case then the person wouldn't mind going into the doctors office for it instead of buying it over a counter. I don't think it makes a difference whether contraception was being used or not because whatever happens a person should not have to have a child if they do not want one. I understand what greywolf is saying about life but I do not consider a foetus to be alive until it has left the womb.
