If your going to shoot off your mouth in some stupid way, at least present your information in a form relevant to the argument (i.e. rate to rate, and actual numbers to actual numbers) The number of crimes out there isn't even the issue, not that I am in anyway accepting what you say about your "facts" to be true. I know many of you don't live here in the USA. I'm sorry to hear that. But for you US citizens out there, you should KNOW your rights. Owning a personal fire arm is your RIGHT guaranteed to you by the US Constitution. If you choose to give that up, fine. Don't force 280 million Americans to suffer from your irrational phobia of guns and inability/unwillingness to even protect yourself. I don't care what lame "crime" stats you decide to throw into the mix, or what other goofy arguments are posed. None of them, NOT ONE SINGLE ARGUMENT will ever change the fact FREEDOM pours from the barrel of a GUN! Places like Europe, the UK, and other countries were established by citizens wielding weapons at the powers that be, but time after time they fall back into the herd, becoming sheep to their government, only to be squashed under foot again and again. Fire arms are the great equalizer, but I'd sooner be shot dead in my own living room than actually trust the government I know to be corrupt and dishonest to protect me from the crack-head on the corner, than not have the means to protect me and my family.
