Thomas Jefferson suggested that there be a revolt every 10 years just to keep the government in line! Ideas like this have kept the US Constitution one of the most enduring leagal documents in history. If you look back in history, government usually makes an effort to disarm the citizens just before they crush the people rights (Nazi Germany, Europe, what's happening in the US today). | 49 | I don't need to speak for myself. I just read a study that clearly stated the countries with the highest gun control had the highest rates of violent crime. As a matter of fact, there seemed to be a direct correlation between the amount of gun control and the amount of violent crime. If you would like to do your homework and learn something about the issue in which you argue about, please do so, but you will find little to no evidence to defend your stand on this issue. | 50 | Once again, I will say it again. Countries with the strictest gun control have the highest violent crime rates. Period. If your so big on just the raw numbers, why don't you use some common sense(something often missing from gun control freaks' arguments) and also notice you are talking about countries with FRACTION of the population of the United States! So naturally, numbers of violent crimes are going to be lower, but that hardly means that the rate is lower. I'm sure if we weeded out a couple hundred million people in the US, our numbers might in some way compare.
