My thought is that the holiday came from the Celts/Pagans/Europeans (who had a different god and therefor can't by definition be satanic)and was introduced into the 'christian' religion. It was to celebrate the last of the harvest on Nov.1st. And I agree with mandy...I've read the satanic bible and there's nothing about sacrificing animals. In fact one of the ... oh i cant remember what they call them...rules (kinda like the commandments) is to not hurt women and children and I'm pretty sure animals is in there somewhere to(its been a while, not my usual reading material) - I am curious though, and I'm not trying to be rude... do you think that everything that is not of god is satanic? And if not, even giving you the benefit of the doubt with the whole satanic/sacrifice thing...its still a great holiday, ya have to admit the whole sacrafice thing just isnt very popular anymore. Christmas has the highest suicide rate of the year but were not as a nation dumping on that holiday (there's always gonna be someone out there...). Besides what better way to let your hair down and have a good time with friends and family then by throwing a party and dressing up like different characters. You say its made to stir up fear? What about April fools? That's a day just to scare the crap out of people, it's all for fun, not like a dominating, controlling Hitler/Romans/serial killer kinda fear, but more like a sure hope nobody puts salt in my coffee fear.
