You never caught the second seek-a-word out of this one, Kate. Hmph. And you said you were good at these. | Caller i.d. - have you got it blocked?
Biggles, it's something offered by a lot phone line services. When you call someone these days, the receiving line has the ability to depict your phone number. That number gets passed on to your device at home, and a lot of phones now display the callers' numbers. There's also a "block", offered by the same companies, that has this depiction encrypted so the receiver is unable to view your number. | Caller i.d. - have you got it blocked?
*shrinks* Hm? Uh, yeah. It was...it was just those, yup. (Guess you did find them, my apologies. Feel better.) | Caller i.d. - have you got it blocked?
Gad. I can't imagine having that sort of reaction to allergies. I ONCE had a sinus infection, which a lot of people compare their allergies to, and I couldn't imagine. That infection was the most painful experience, I think, in my entire life. Tell them to vacuum up the damn valley! Better yet, wet it down! | Caller i.d. - have you got it blocked?
I tell telemarketers that I am extremely interest in the product, but I'm in a hurry. I ask for their home phone numbers and tell them I'll return their call either at the time they're just about to sit down to dinner, or early on Saturdays and Sundays. | Caller i.d. - have you got it blocked?
Why not just turn it off? | Caller i.d. - have you got it blocked?
You're joking, right? You block your own number so no one can see who you are when you call; you have this trunk of circuitry going on in your home there - block me, unblock them, block the unblocker. When a call comes your way, you must wait for the phone to stop ringing - I assume your pause here is so the caller will have enough time to leave a message; you dial the message center or retrieve it from your machine; when there is no message, you locate their number, even if it's "private" (which I've never heard of before); you sign online, enter the number into a reverse directory; you determine the class of the phone line originated the call... All to then wonder why they blocked their phone number?? You inquire how they would have "any possible 'legitimate' reason"? I think you should go with my last suggestion. Just turn it off, and you're set. It just seems you spend a little more time investigating a phone call that somehow made it through your defense system when all your hard-earned answers are right there, singing, "Pick me up! There's someone who wants to speak to you!" | Caller i.d. - have you got it blocked?
I. am. SORRY! I confused your name with the name just above your previous post. I read yours, thinking you were joles, not joalis and the two stories just didn't make sense together. The way I read it: "Yes, I block my numbers", then "why would someone block their number - I ain't answering them". Haha! I apologize...you both - since you're two different people - make very good sense in your own views. *sheepishly wanders away with a look that says, "what? I meant to do that!"* | Caller i.d. - have you got it blocked?

1)Rhoda; Lou Grant 2)Different World 3)Gomer Pyle, USMC; Mayberry, PFC...fmpcqc? 4)Laverne and Shirley; Mork and Mindy 5)Jeffersons; Gloria; GOOD TIMES 6)The Ropers 7)Some show with just a couple of them from original...um. "Good Times" with "All in the Family": The mother from that show ("Good Times", can't think of her name) was the maid for the Jeffersons while they lived next door to the Bunkers. I remember how bored I was watching the original spin-off. It first shifted to the Jefferson's house for half the episode, then followed the mother character home to James and JJ and that family, where James told her to quit her job with them. Am I dreaming? | Name that spin-off!
