However, a young children that shoplifts,...is probably on or below the poverty level. I don't think a beating would woork here is violent...is probably a victim of violence him/herself; more violence is probably not the answer, affection is. But it may be necessary as an immediate corrective action disrespectful to others, what else is there other than a kick up the backside!? I like a soap sandwich in this scenario; you know, to clean that dirty mouth.
