21I am completely clear on what the word means. I am not completely clear on who God is. I'm not completely clear on who Nick is, and God is much more complex than Nick (IMHO)!

***Atzilut - I'd be curious to know why you think the term is meaningless. Feel free to e-mail me about it. (I think you know my e-mail address?) I'd even like to discuss it, without trying to "convert" you - unless you would consider discussion to be an attempt at conversion by default - in which case I won't bother to respond to your e-mail ... but I'd still like to hear it. It's not something I've ever seriously considered before.

***steve - your opinion seems to me to be equivalent to those who say that homosexuality is simply a misguided need for a strong father figure. You reduce an important part of someone's life to a psychological imbalance, and this kind of generalizing is a dangerous thing. As for my personal belief in God, you've completely missed the mark, so save your pity.
The word "God":
22Do psalms count as poems? Well, I'm counting them. How many poems can you recite from memory in their entirety?
23I especially like apples when my friend Felice makes apple crisp... But really I prefer nectarines.Do you prefer apples or oranges?
24I prefer a sexual partner who is not circumcised, in that the sexual partner I prefer is not.

***reality - my dad was circumsized at the age of 18 (it was required by the military ... ?). Unfortunately, I don't have the kind of relationship with him that would allow my asking for a sexual comparison. So why did I bother to mention it? I'm not sure ...

Circumcision
25I went about 3-4 days without sleep once. No good reason. By the end of that time, I felt continually drunk - I was really loopy. (I can see some of you saying "Ah, now I understand ...")How long have you gone without sleep? (This means NO sleep)
26UCONN - Husky fan for life.

Ron2112 - You dare! :)

If you attended college at any point for an undergraduate education, what college or university did you attend? And did you finish and obtain a degree?
27It would vary, depending on how I invested it, but however much it would take to earn about $50,000 in interest to live off of.How much money would you need to be set for life?
28***lisashea - in New Hampshire home schooling is very popular and I think they achieve a very good amount of socialization - they get together with other kids for band practices and team sports, both of which teach them how to compete, coordinate etc. Also, many parents get together to trade off teaching of subjects they aren't as proficient in, so home schooled kids even get a good deal of intellectual competition, but in much smaller groups.

I used to have socialization issues with home schooling, but having been exposed to so many excellent home schoolers here, that I think that would be the way I would go. Also, home schooled kids as a group are doing much better in colleges and universities than non-home schooled kids - although I'm not sure the numbers are high enough to form any concrete conclusions. Plus I would say the socialization I got in public schools was a more negative than positive experience for me.

If you had children and money was no object, how would you choose to educate your offspring?
29No. I'd like to, but it never occurs to me until I need to know what time it is and I don't have one on.Do you wear a watch (or any other time telling device)?
30at the moment...What's your favorite Beatles album?
