| 87 | All of the senses obviously were given us for a better life. However, the only sense at this time in my life that I feel I could give up is smell, which would be tough. At one point not long ago I lost my sense of smell, which can be a hazard, (although any of the senses lost can be hazardous) my husband had spilled something that smelled very bad (according to him) and I smelled nothing. Not good! Even though I had little ability to smell, I could still taste, maybe not the sharpest though. I have regained my sense of smell. I remember, I think I may have mentioned this, but my keenest sense of smell and taste came when I fasted for 7 days on only distilled water. I could smell an orange or roasting walnuts in another room. The senses were strong. I value all my senses; sight for seeing my family,friends, reading the good Book and good literature, the trees, flowers and other beauty in life; hearing, for hearing my family, friends, a child's laugh, beautiful music; smell, taste, to enjoy the wonderful foods God gave us, the smell of rain and flowers, fresh cut grass; and touch, to feel your mate, child or grandchild hug and hold you, a wonderful closeness, the feel of satin and silk, flowers.
