That sounds reasonable indeed. Being white and extremely wealthy, I'd finally feel safe with this law. | How do you feel about this law?
She likes Latin... (I find that positive.) Honestly, I could not come up with any negative thing to say about Iseult! | Can you come up with a positive thing to say about Iseult ?

Never. Neither time nor a minimum of interest. | Do you play games on your computer?
1? Don't remember. | How old were you when you stopped bedwetting?
I was a very shy boy. When I took all my courage to show a furtive and short smile to a girl at school whom I liked, I immediately got the following loud and cruel comment - so that other classmates could hear it: "You shouldn't think you are irresistible!" I was 14 then, and this had been my very first attempt ever to approach the female world. I am sure that girl had no idea about the extent of devastation caused by her reaction. For full 5 years I did not dare to show any sign of interest to a girl. And as you see, even today those words are still in my ears. That was really the worst thing someone ever said to me. | What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
Why is that like this? I do understand you were deeply hurt! I really have never participated in this kind of violence against women. But those short-brained kiddies not only ruin the image a girl has about a boy but also are much more successful on the whole than boys like I was. I envied them for being so simple in many respects! By contrast, my negative experience made me lose all confidence concerning girls (a very bad starting point if you want to find a girl!!). For example, I was not even able to move naturally when I tried to dance, so that I became a miserable dancer. I can really say that my teen years were destroyed - with respect to women - by those two seconds described in my other posting. And from that day on, the fear of rejection has never left me, not even today. Thank goodness, my university years helped to overcome that emotional disaster of my school years. Strangely, even if you feel so deeply hurt, women remain attractive... | What is the worst thing someone has ever said to you?
| 18 | It is NOT an alternative. The human mind has its own structure. It is God's gift that we have the capacity to develop theories in our repertory of possibilities. We may seek to understand, and this research may be successful, in the sense that that for certain periods scientific "truths" appear convincing: free of contradictions and able to explain - in OUR terms though! - what we want to know. History (also: of science!) shows that those systems of theories show weaknesses and are without defense against forms of criticism which at their beginning were not seen, did not exist. The necessity arises to modify the fundamentals of the until then valid concept, and this gives way to a new, and again convincing, human theory after some time of "struggling". - I am sure that the "Big Bang Theory" of our times will remain as a curiosity of human thinking in the light of future epochs. (But that is my personal conviction.)
As a Christian, I find the key for what is really (!) true in the Holy Bible. It is not a book of physics, though. If we want a scientific theory, it is up to ourselves to make it and write it down. The Bible is a much deeper gift. People like you and me were among those who actually wrote it down as a book (in the material sense), therefore it is not surprising that it is full of logical weakness and inconsistencies. It is the spirit which led the (often unknown) authors to use their words which is its value. I am sure they often did not even know or guess the depth of their own words. Why should I expect that the authors of the Bible text were "perfect" when I see at the same moment that even the persons who were the nearest to Christ had similar faults as you and me? (And the whole development of Christianity was entrusted to those few weak people!!) God does not present us a truth in HIS words (we would not understand anything!), but allows a human version of it: the Bible. When I find sentences which I can't believe, then I should say: "I can't believe...". But that's ME then... The Bible is well beyond the narrow aims of science: It can hold you and lead you throughout your life - even through a life devoted to convinced scientific research. The decision is: Do I want to stay below the word or above? Strangely, the Bible can carry you only if you decide to stay below... This decision is almost independent of people's scientific behaviour. There are Christians who are outstanding physicists and Non-Christians of the same scientific abilities. This even holds analogously for the discipline of theology. | Do you believe in the Big Bang Theory or the Bible? |
Years ago I'd have said "No, I dread them but I go", and I used to suggest to celebrate prime number birthdays in a special way, not the multiples of 10. Now, having lost the dearest parts of my family during the last few years, my attitude has changed. Still I think. though, the quality of family relations must have reached a good level during the life, otherwise family functions are rotten entertainment. | Do you enjoy going to family functions?
I don't think so. At least not consciously. | Do you frequently quote others?
