This is an unreasonable application of the rules. I can't see an expulsion sticking for having a book that happens to have a razor on the cover. This would, I suppose, be grounds for a suspension if you refused to give up the book or having the book the book was coupled with other behavior that was against the rules. Expulsion for having the book is a violation of your civil liberties and I would fight it.Do you thinks schools are too tough in defining "drug paraphanilia?"
Who was it that said that ignorance of the law is no excuse? Was it Socrates? Not that I think this is a good rule, I think it's bad. It's just the last comment got me thinking.Do you thinks schools are too tough in defining "drug paraphanilia?"
I think higher education should be a right so long as the student maintains good grades. This is a US-centric answer but I live in the US. According to the US Constitution all citizens are entitled equal participation in the benefits and functions of society. (14th amendment I think). For a student to have equal access to economic opportunity then they should be entitled to an equal opportunity to prepare themselves. In today's market place preparation includes a college degree. Those that are unwilling or unable to earn the certificate should not be "given" one, but no-one should be turned away from the gate for lack of wealth. Is post-secondary education a right?
For some things not for others.Do you believe in the "Every Other Generation" rule?
Good surveyWhat is your favorite card game?
I didn't know that armpit cancer was a real health problem.Do you wear deodorant, or do you wear anti-perspirant?
anon--How would it cause a different cancer than armpit cancer? Is there some way that the antiperspirant enters the blood stream so that the "toxic" chemical can poison other cells? Does this mean that we can get cancer from eating food made in aluminum cookware? Can we get cancer from riding in aluminum cars? If aluminum is such a potent carcinogen then why haven't there been health advisories posted?Do you wear deodorant, or do you wear anti-perspirant?
hunter---I'm trying not to be mean here but do you have any facts to back up what you're saying? If you do, I'll be happy to throw away my aluminum pans and stop using aluminum containing products, like Rolaids for example. I find it hard to believe, though, in a country where we crucified Alar (or whatever that chemical was that they put on apples) on the largely imaginary testimony of a movie actress and we had a twenty year span of lawsuits based on the spurious claim that high-tension wires cause birth defects that we would ignore a chemical that was PROVED carcinogenic that was in our cookware, beverage containers, antacids, and legion other household products. If there were any truth to the claim then Alco would be immersed in lawsuits right now.

Furthermore, since Alzheimers' is not cancer I don't see why you are bringing it up unless you are trying to "muddy the waters." The fact is that anon claims anti-perspirants cause cancer, I simply want him/her to prove it.
Do you wear deodorant, or do you wear anti-perspirant?
I don't mean to sound bitter but I would like to point out that these are web-pages that are sponsored by companies selling natural deodorant. On the other hand, why take chances? I will be sure to tell the women in my life to use corn starch or some other similar biodegradable substance.Do you wear deodorant, or do you wear anti-perspirant?
Maybe societies that are enlightened enough to let individuals have responsibility for themselves also lacks the will to resist those societies that believe in the subjugation of the individual.Do people have the right to decide if they want to die?
