So how are the E Coast and W Coast mainly different as you see it? What are your advantages of living in Delaware? (I've never been outa the West myself.) | What do you want now?
I never was aware of any of this. Thanx for your views. Interesting! No, I've no plans to visit any other state nor country at all. I don't like traveling, can't afford it, and don't really have any desire to go anywhere else in the states. If I could travel anywhere, really quick and easy and with lots of money to spend, I'd like to visit Lisbon, Portugal most of all. | What do you want now?
I don't listen to radio, but the last time I did, yes, way too many screaming, obnoxious commercials and the talk programs didn't talk about anything I was interested in. | Is there too much talk on the radio?
No, never, and they would never play it anyway. I like WORLD music mainly and most radio stations do not play this kind of music, at least not the type of world music I like most. Also I do not like talking on the phone. | Do you ever call the radio to request a song?
(1) they do not play the music I like (American folk blues and various WORLD music, especially Portuguese fado and Brazilian music -- and NOT the usual popular blandola bossa-nova type stuff but favela-type "rough" sambas); (2) I detest radio commercials -- loud, obnoxious and have nothing to do with me or my lifestyle -- just like TV commercials; (3) I get too much static when I (rarely) turn on the radio -- cannot find the stations I am looking for, either; (4) not enough talk programs that really interest me -- I invariably get religious fanatics or political krapola.... | What do you not like about the radio?
Nope. I tried once a few months ago because someone e-mailed me about a Portugal-music station that played the kind of folclorico (folk music) I was trying desperately to find. But I could not get the station, supposedly in California. | Do you listen to the radio at home?
Last summer I discovered a Website that sells a special line of clothing, http://www.neighborhoodies.com. They custom-design hooded sweatshirts, T-shirts, etc. to say anything you want (not ONLY a fav. neighborhood). The clothes themselves are excellent quality. I visited their booth in person at one of my city's street fairs (the site itself is based in NY) and they are dee-liteful folks to meet and to correspond with. So far I've ordered a T-shirt and a lightweight hoodie and will definitely be getting more. If you want to wear any kind of message, they'll do it and do it well. Just passing it on cuz I think it's a cool idea, and different. Why wear a shirt that just says "Old Navy," f'instance when you can show off the name of your favorite neighborhood, rock group, or any other message that's more personal and "you?" | Circle time: what have you been dying to share?
You lucky! I miss having cats. (Not allowed to have 'em where I live now.) Congratulations on the new baby! I especially love kittens. | Circle time: what have you been dying to share?
I do grow catnip though even though I have no cats of my own anymore. It is good for people too. However, I started it mainly for a friend whose cats I used to babysit. She moved outa state and I still send her one remaining cat some 'nip once in a while. It grows fine for me indoors in a sunny kitchen window. She had an 18-year-old cat but he was killed by a hit-and-run driver. My sister has a cat who is 19 years old. | Circle time: what have you been dying to share?
Glad to hear it cuz these are a bunch of nice folks. I am one who has always loved "message" T-shirts (etc.). When I started liking the Rolling Stones, for instance, I put their names on a sweatshirt myself -- this was way before one could get ready-made Stones shirts, back when they first came to America. So if someone wanted to advertise a group or singer who isn't yet popular, they could get professionals to do it. | Circle time: what have you been dying to share?
