I checked knowledge, because I think learning and enlightenment are essential if the human race is going to make any progress towards not trying to kill each other off all the time. But I think this has to be combined with action of some sort--you have to bring the message to others. | Which path would you choose?
I was taking this whole concept as a general life-philosophy, not as related to any god, really. I don't believe in god, but I think the model proposed above is a good one for life anyway--it can be applied to other belief systems. | Which path would you choose?
I took it the other day and don't feel like taking it again, so I only ranked the top four, which I remembered. | Rank these presidential candidates.
vos: not one who ever got much of the vote. | Rank these presidential candidates.
I feel moderately safe in most of these, although in the past couple of years I have become afraid of flying. I never used to feel unsafe in planes, but I guess now that I'm older I have developed some sense of my own mortality. I realize that random things just happen, and as Phi says, you can at least feel like you have more control over those random things in other modes of transport. I've been getting better about the flying thing in the past few months though, I think out of self-preservation because I've been flying so much. | Rank in order of how safe you generally feel when traveling in the following forms of transport!
Fire all the way, baby. I think it goes along with being a Scorpio... | If you could control one element which would it be?
tcb: I know that. But that's never made sense to me, and I've always thought of it as more fire-like--I guess it's the stinging bit. | If you could control one element which would it be?
I at least like to think that my first name doesn't fit its meaning--"princess." | Does your personality reflect the meaning of your given name?
lion: I hate to break it to you, but I think it's "who is like God?" as in a rhetorical question, as in, "no-one." Sorry... | Does your personality reflect the meaning of your given name?
Micah is a shortened form of Michael (= micah el) or Micayahu(= micah yahu; Micayah is also possible)--it just doesn't have the theophoric (there's your word for the day, SueBee) element El or Yahu (both of which mean God) on it--very common in biblical names for the God part to just be implicit. Michael means "Who is like God?" (see my comment above) and is a rhetorical question for which the answer is "no one." It does *not* mean "the one who is like God"--because in the estimation of the people making up these names, there was no such person. | Does your personality reflect the meaning of your given name?
