I joined a social circle a few years ago, and I honestly thought the sun shined out of all of their arses - they're all very clever and sharp, and I loved their company. After a completely private but very confusing issue suddenly became public, I gained a reputation for being a man-eating whore, which I'm not at all, and the buggars dropped me like a stone. Some of the things said about me were horrendous and I got quite down about it. But coming out the other side of it, I realised that for all there were clever individuals, they had an awful pack mentality and it was only going to be a matter of time before it all went very wrong. If people say awful things about me and they're true, IWould question why they can't say them to my face. But if it's just lies, the best thing to do is let go, move on, and find genuine friends. | Which of these statements would bother you most? |
