Yes. The day after it happened. I hadn't heard much about it but turned on my computer when I got home and clicked onto the BBC news website. I didn't even read any of the articles, just went straight to make a donation to the Red Cross. It wasn't very much | Have you made any donations in support of the Earthquake victims in Haiti?
I might have tried them on occasionally when I was young - bits and pieces that my Mum has (but also does not wear), but I've never had one on my finger for longer than a minute or two. I can't imagine ever wanting to wear one. | Have you ever had to have a ring cut off your finger?
If I use your definition, yes. I tend to encounter certain doctors and recognise that they have many of the qualities that I would like to have when I am a doctor. (Other doctors, not so much...!) However, I wouldn't say that I really try to emulate others outside of that context. Nor would I actually describe those people as my "heroes". My "hero" is Biggles and I think that (fictional) character has informed my sense of morality/fair play to a significant degree (both directly and indirectly by having a similar effect on my Mum when she was young). I have no interest in emulating him in other ways (no interest in becoming a pilot, for example). | Do you have any heroes in your life?
I've always been pretty frugal. I have been making extra efforts to take lunch with me, rather than buying a (usually unpleasant) sandwich. I'm facing a dilemma on the accommodation front though. I'm moving out of my current shared house, but I'm not sure whether to look for somewhere on my own or aim for another shared house. There's a big cost difference, but the thought of spending another year or two feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome in my home isn't appealing. There's no reason to assume that I would have a bad experience again, but I could guarantee feeling comfortable if I lived on my own! (Though I do worry about getting lonely...) | What ways have you used to economize?
Zoo sounds bad to me! I think I'd ideally like to share with one other person that I could get along with well - ideally someone that I could sit and watch TV with every now and then, rather than just being likes ships that pass in the night. | What ways have you used to economize?
That's a good phrase - thanks! | What ways have you used to economize?

I'm not sure - a couple of years I think. How long have you been gone - a similar time, I should think? I'd be getting suspicious if I hadn't met him several years ago! | "Books That Everyone Absolutely Ought To Read At Least Once In Their Life": What's in the list?
