| 32 | I'm from southern Indiana. My grandmother is from Arkansas. She makes cornbread pretty much just like that, but uses white cornmeal and regular buttermilk. There is not much sugar in it. What we call cake cornbread is baked in a pan, and usually has flour. My grandmother makes the best cornbread. (She makes it with vegetable oil or shortening for me, now) My other grandmother and mom and I make cornbread about like this, too, but with regular milk since we don't keep buttermilk on hand. It's not as good; I'll have to look into this powdered buttermilk thing. Too me, cornbread from scratch is easy. | 37 | The dress code where I work is really laid back. The rules are as follows: No tank tops, halter tops, or midriff baring tops. (Sleeveless is OK) No short skirts and shorts. No spandex clothes. That is it. And the spandex thing is kind of flexible. (No pun intended) Clothes can have spandex in them, which is good since most of my clothes do. I think they just can't be that shiny, almost all spandex, biker short type material. I think these rules are pretty reasonable, even though it meant I had to buy some new shirts and wear pants all summer since my summer clothes were all really skimpy! | How do you feel about dress codes where you work? |
| 38 | I had to wear a uniform when I was AmeriCorps. It was nice not to have to worry about what to wear to work, but I still had to launder my uniforms. They paid for the laundry, though. | 39 | Oh yeah, they bought them. In fact, they gave them to us. I still have some of the stuff. It was t-shirts and battle/cargo pants mainly, with a few other pieces. Some of the work we did put those uniforms through quite a workout. I wouldn't want to wear anyone else's. | How do you feel about dress codes where you work? |
