I spent January through November in AmeriCorps*NCCC a 10 month federal program where people ages 18-24 do community service work in return for room & board, a small stipend and an educational award. It is an amazing program; I got the chance to do all kinds of different work & travel around the country. I also made some wonderful friends that I'll keep for life. Now I am doing temp work at a law firm and looking for a job in a library. Next year I'm planning on going back to school to get my MLS.Has your job status changed in the past three months?
I don't have any one place I want to go more than others. I just moved to New Jersey, and I am planning on traveling all around the east coast. I want to visit as many Major League baseball parks as possible. I also intend to go to Europe for a month this summer, and someday I'd love to go to Japan, India, Austrailia...the list goes on. What location on Earth do you most want to visit?
I've never been to the Boy Scout Headquarters, but I've been to Irving, TX, and I can't imagine anyone having that be the place they'd like to go more than anywhere in the world! What location on Earth do you most want to visit?
I'd say it is definitely easier to buy for women as a general rule. This could be because I am a woman, so I feel more in tune with "what women want." The easiest *person* to buy for is my brother, though. As a general rule, do you find it easier to buy presents for men, or for women?
This is a neat website! I just stumbled across it when doing a Google search for vegetarian marshmallows. (They're mentioned in the Thanksgiving dinner survey) I like the casual, friendly quality of the responses. I love Royal Riviera Pears, and I want to read a lot of the books mentioned in this thread now. I couldn't possibly choose one book either. A lot of my favorites are mentioned already. A few more would include: "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White, "Winds of War" & "War and Remembrance" by Herman Wouk. A recent favorite is "The Sparrow" by Mary Doria RussellIn your opinion, which was the best book published in the 20th century?
