651No.Should the Boy Scouts have the right to ban gay members?
652I'm not sure.

On the one hand, I can see where this might cut down on drunkenness, and it might be a good idea to - I heard that 40% of police calls have to do with substance abuse.

On the other hand, if someone hasn't been convicted of a crime, then one should not be using legal authority to enforce sanctions against them.

On the other other hand, doing so would likely be kinder to them than letting them get into trouble.

Hmm.
Should police distribute lists of habitual drunks to prevent them from being served?
653Original Keith Haring graffiti in subway stations and handball courts on the upper east side of Manhattan, when I was in high school in the '80's.

A guy in my high school class was a graffiti artist whose tag can still be found around the city many years later... he died falling off the Brooklyn Bridge trying to graffiti a hard-to-reach spot on there. He used to do beautiful murals on the high school courtyard, which somehow the admin didn't have a proper appreciation for. So they'd call in a "Graffiti busters" truck to wipe it off, and he'd sneak around and graffiti the side of the truck > * smile *

654China, Japan. Hope to get to the Phillippines someday.Which countries in Asia have you visited?
655Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Russia

I really liked Estonia... the old section of Talinn, surrounded by fortress walls, has a wonderful medieval feel to it... there are flower vendors, and fresh butter and ice cream, and alehouses with domed doorways...

657I don't believe children should be hit.Assuming you believe corporal punishment of children by their parents is acceptable, do you believe the use of implements is acceptable?
658I've heard that it's roughly equal to one's arms length. How big is your personal space?
659I remember having a neighbor from a Slavic country, who would stand WAY close to me. I'd end up stepping back without even thinking about it - and she'd close the distance to match her own comfort level... until I was practically backed into the wall.

I've noticed with amusement the difference between myself and my officemates upon entering a conference room. I'm from NYC, but I'm presently living on the west coast. My officemates will enter the room and sit next to someone who is all ready seated; I'll enter the room and pick the chair that's furthest from those that are all ready occupied, unless someone I'm close to is all ready seated; then I'll sit near them. This is precisely what people do on the NYC subway trains - we sit as far apart as possible, likely without even thinking about it.
