| 31 | As a child, there were two incidents - one in which I was 4 and a friend's father exposed himself to me; the other in which I was playing tag in a pool at 11 and the father of this other kid who was playing tag with us all kept trying to finger the girls who he caught. Both situations ended before they went too far, thank goodness, so no major resulting trauma. Actually, it bothered me more that I didn't feel comfortable telling my parents either time; I had the sense that they'd have told me that I should have somehow avoided the situation. They may in reality have been more supportive - I did tell years later and they were sympathetic and appropriately horrified - but at the time I didn't feel like risking it. | Survivors, speak out! |
