1Whee. A good question, but the options don't really work. it isn't as cut and dry as all that.
old movies were made for the society that they were shown in and some became 'timeless classics'. I tend to think, because my exposure is limited to the ones that have endured, that the older movies tended to have more plot. Movies of today seem to be mostly about effects. The special effects of todays movies are incredible when compared to stuff of ten years ago, let alone 40 or more. I often find myself wondering what the reaction would be of someone from the thirties suddenly able to watch a modern movie.. but that is neither here nor there. Basically it is the idea that there has to be more and more bang for your buck with bigger and grander effects than any other movie. The biggest problem I have with movies today is the overuse of swearing, the (as my roommate pointed out) idea that they seem to convey that a statement doesn't carry as much weight unless there is profanity attached. so, I'll go back to the line that started the ramble. they are made for the society at the time they are made. There are good ones and bad ones and some that will last for years and years and years. They are about equal in that respect.
How do mainstream films of today compare to films of the past ?
2do you mean in their own show or as an aside in one of the existing shows? If they were glamorized that much, people might try for the notoriety.Should the Golden Raspberry Awards be televised?
3How many mugs in a pot? How much coffee can you drink before you start feeling ill?
4My testing is best described by the Dilbert strip where it describes levels of boredom. Have you ever tested your psychic powers?
5I have two hands.. I reach for them both. however, the change slot is closer than the item of purchase, therefor that hand reaches its goal first. When you use a vending machine, do you retrieve your product first or your change (if any)
6when I had a job, it was initially a matter of flipping windows when people walked by.. partly because my immediate supervisor was a goober, and related supervisors were pinheads. then I moved departments and the supervisor there had a clue, as long as the work was all caught up on, then it wasn't an issue. This was my view at the other position as well. Now that I am out of work, I don't have to worry about that. however, I do have to take time from my busy schedule of loafing around the house to go online and do surveys.. only 300 or so to catch up on.Is there something else you should be doing right now?
7I am (to my knowledge) uncaffinatedThe Caffeine Question: Morning Edition
8a friend of mine has spares, so I am hoping for one of those.. at this point I think it is a yes...Will you see Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace on the day it opens in the U.S. (May 19th)?
9my ego varies according to the situation. If I know something, then it is good sized..(average I'd say) if I don't know something, then it doesn't show itself.. however it flares hugely in response to someone else being extremely arrogant to match them and attempt to put them in their place. How big is your ego?
10mandy: did she use the smoke filled room method of cooking?
Not enough smoke to set off the fire alarm, but when you notice it in the living room it is definitely an issue. I wasn't really aware that there was a different way to do things as I was growing up. Now that I am grown, it is a nostalgic treat when I get to eat at home. it still tastes okay.. and you are quite certain that it is done... * cool smile *
Generally, do you prefer your own cooking or other people's cooking ?
