| 1 | Bill has (once again!) got it spot on. The Eiffel Tower is in the centre of the photo - you're looking almost straight down onto it! | Where is this? (3) |
| 2 | OK, here are the correct answers, in the order of the original list:
Salami. Pistachio Nuts. Cheddar (cheese). Wiener (sausage). Scotch Egg. Brazil Nuts. Satsumas. Marmite. Pilsener (beer). Rum. Sherry. Cider. Tea. Coffee. | Which of these food and drink names are derived from geographical locations? |
| 3 | I heard a loud "thump" from upstairs while watching TV. Went to investigate, and found that a cat had knocked a box off a desk in the spare room. | What was the last noise you investigated? |
| 4 | > I know it's probably some European city, since the image URL address
> has "co.uk". That's my website. The image is "borrowed" from live.com. | Where is this? (2) |
| 5 | > I was just checking some Spanish cities and they have the same reddish
> color roofs... so, perhaps Spain or somewhere in the Mediterranean This, and your previous comments, are good observations. I won't say how close you are yet, but you're definitely on the right lines | Where is this? (2) |
| 6 | > Got it!
> > > Barcelona, Spain OK, forget my previous reply, you seem to have worked it out anyway! | Where is this? (2) |
| 7 | OK, enough of you seem to have spotted that it's Barcelona. The real identifier (apart from general things like it being a port city and the nearby mountains) is the long straight road running from centre-left to towards top-right. Since the grid pattern of the city is predominantly parallel to the coast, this road is running diagonally as far as the city is concerned and it's a key Barcelona landmark - it's actually called "Avinguda Diagonal" ("Diagonal Avenue", in English).
Hypersky: The round shape just to the right of centre is Barcelona's Olympic stadium (from the 1992 Olympics). | Where is this? (2) |
| 8 | I haven't really been to enough theme parks to say that I've got a favourite type of ride overall, but I enjoyed the scary ones at Alton Towers when I tried them. | What's your favorite sort of amusement park ride? |
| 9 | I've never driven a boat. I've piloted them, helmed them, sailed them and captained them, but I do my driving on the roads! | Have you ever driven a boat? |
| 10 | "Per Harold Person" would be a perfectly normal name in Scandinavia - a bit like "John Steven Johnson" would be in an English-speaking country. So there's probably no humour involved, he's more likely that he's an immigrant or from an immigrant family. | What is the worst name of a person you have ever actually met? |
