1What, you want to know about
my obsession with numbers?
Truly, where should I begin!?
Here is a pleasant web site:

Amazing Number Twenty-Two

Be warned however that it's
just the tip of the iceberg!
Are you obsessed about a certain number or numbers?
2I disagree about the "better" part, steve. That 1 to 10 scale was goofy, what's the difference between a rating of 6 or 7 and how can that possibly track true across the entire survey group? Brian's choices are more explicit, simpler to choose from, and still seem to cover most of the bases wrt what people might think on the subject.

Jane, you mean that you take later comments by the SC members into consideration when rating the survey question itself? So you're actually rating the SC member, aren't you? I don't know about you, but the button at the bottom of my screen is for a *survey* rating.

3Pinochle, euchre, canasta, et al are played with modified 'traditional' decks - usually some subset of the numbers with multiple copies of each card (I don't remember them all, but pinochle is played with the 8-Ace of two decks, for instance).

Of the above listed, I'd say Bridge, although I haven't played it in a coon's age (literally).

My favorite of *all* card games is War of the Flowers - a Japanese card game that is played by three people. The deck has 48 (or 51 depending on the deck) cards, each one associated with a month of the year. Beautiful and challenging.
What is your favorite card game?
4Actually, aren't "mercy killings" not just leaving people to die, but actually helping them along?

In this day and age of powerful over-the-counter pharmacueticals and readily-available firearms, anyone who claims to need a doctors help to die, is, imo, just looking to abdicate responsibility for themselves - they want someone to tell them that it's ok. If one has the strength of will to kill oneself, the matter of "rights" is moot.
Do people have the right to decide if they want to die?
5My mentor's homeland.

The site of Regis's millenium party.

Bill Bryson and _Rhynocerous_.
When I say 'Australia', what comes to mind?
6I think the canuks would never go for it.How would you feel about Canada and the United States merging into one big happy country?
7I prefer *fresh* eggs.Do you prefer brown or white eggs, fertilized or unfertilized, "natural"/"organic", real eggs or egg substitutes?
8Currently have an 1800cc Sube wagon, but my first car was a 454 custom Nova, and at that time the family car was a mid-70 Ford Wagon with an Interceptor engine in it (468cui). ZOOM!How big engine does the car/cars you drive have?
9they - Only in America, perhaps. There are, in Europe (and I don't doubt throughout most of the rest of the world) plenty of two cyl cars with caps of 800ccs or less. The ubiquitous German Ente (Duck) normally a four cyl 1.2 liter, has a two cyl version for city driving (called the Lame Ente by many).

How big engine does the car/cars you drive have?
10Care to enlighten me as to why you called out differential equations as distinct from calculus (of which it is a part)? Why not pull out integration separately too?How much math do you use on a regular basis?
