1I was appalled by the story about Mickey Mantle getting his third (or so) liver because even after his first transplant he kept drinking like a fish. Talk about throwing good money after bad... I'm in favor of a usefulness metric; who will live the longest and the "best" as a result of getting the organ, and who won't abuse the new organ once they have it. To avoid nasty political machinations, "best" should probably be taken to mean most complete recovery.Organ Transplants: Assume that there are several people waiting for the same organ. What factors should be used in deciding who gets it?
2Quality is by far the most important. If I want cheap or fast, I'll go the two blocks to Taco Bell. BTW, why doesn't Survey Central let you assign numbers to various choices? :)When ordering food for delivery what is more important?
3My LARP experience is limited; I played in a group in Seattle a few times in 1988 or thereabouts, but I don't even remember the name of the group at this point. It was fun, but I guess I didn't feel driven to return. But then, I could say the same about table-tops as well; I mostly played RPGs in high school because that's what my friends were doing.Ever played in a LARP (Live Action Roleplaying Game)?
4Birth control is a lot cheaper than a kid. Of course, people who can't afford birth control can't usually afford medical insurance either...Should birth control be covered medical insurance? (Currently most medical insurance carriers do not cover birth control.)
