I chose all of them (except never). I could see circumstances in every case where it would be acceptable. | When is it acceptable to kill someone?
"defence" is a British variant of "defense". | When is it acceptable to kill someone?
Yea, I really just saw the big 'fix me' sign on this survey, and I figured if I made it more broad, it'd have a better chance of getting thru, for whoever it was that thought up the idea. Don't think I'll ever do that again ;) | What is the coldest summer weather you remember?
Is the UK ever going to switch over to the Euro? | Do you think the US should stop circulation of the dollar bill, and replace it with the dollar coin?
We can't really help it. All our bills look like monopoly money afterall. | Do you think the US should stop circulation of the dollar bill, and replace it with the dollar coin?
The US government has shown in the past that it can, and will do things that the majority of the people oppose. They could easily just stop producing dollar bills, despite the peoples 'use' for it. The majority of people in Canada opposed using coins too, but we didn't have a choice once they grabbed up all the dollar bills, and replaced them with dollar coins. "Never use absolutes!" | Do you think the US should stop circulation of the dollar bill, and replace it with the dollar coin?
I agree with jig. To have a tiny little section become an entire state is ridiculous. The Eastern US already has way too many states as it is. People in DC should have a vote, but let them have a vote in Maryland, you don't need to make it a state. Of course if the US did get get past that '50' barrier, maybe that'd open up the door to adding more new states, like the Canadian provinces. | Should the District of Columbia be granted statehood?
The US isn't exactly Iraq, they aren't going to invade. However, the world is becoming a lot smaller, amalgamations are happening everyday. Just look at what's happening in Europe with the EU. I'm sure within the next 20 years Canada will voluntarily join the US. Especially the way things are going in the Canadian economy. | Should the District of Columbia be granted statehood?
Well this is getting way off topic from DC statehood. But my thinking is for economic reasons for the most part. Just seems that the nations of the world are coming together more in recent years. You could drive diagonally from Juneau, to Miami and never even know you're in a different country. So a logical merger would be Canada-US since they're so similar. Anyhow the site I saw the other day (written by a Canadian) that made me think of this is: http://unitednorthamerica.freeservers.com | Should the District of Columbia be granted statehood?
You just got one I'm a Canadian citizen, born in Canada. I ended up moving to the US because of work. I went there thinking I'd come back to Canada as soon as I could, because I'd meet all these rude uncompassionate Americans who run around with guns, and hate all other countries. All my thoughts about the US, and how different it was from Canada were completely shattered when I actually started interacting with Americans. I have met a few loonies that I thought were rude, but then again I've met the same type in Canada as well. For the most part none of the stereotypes that the Canadian government and media spoons out is true... We're for all intents and purposes culturally identical. | Should the District of Columbia be granted statehood?
