| 1 | I don't live in the states. But even us Canadians don't like paying taxes :)
That being said, I'm not sure I could pick which I hate most. If there were any tax I didn't have to pay, then other things would be more expensive to make up for it. | Which tax do you hate the most? |
| 2 | How much are property taxes there?
I own a house and don't find my property taxes to be very high. ($1200 per year for my 1140 sq ft house). Then again, my house isn't 'big' compared to some houses in other cities, but it's a big house where I live. | Which tax do you hate the most? |
| 3 | I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I have heard that real estate here is cheap, but I don't actually know what it costs in comparison to other places. | Which tax do you hate the most? |
| 4 | I think the reasons you stated are exactly why these places should have fire drills.
If there's a fire it's not going to happen when everyone is just sitting around doing nothing and can easily get out. Fires happen when people are in the middle of something. You need to be able to stop immediately and know exactly how to get out without panicking. The daycare I work in has fire drills every month. The director specifically plans them so that they're at different times (sometimes it's just during free play, but sometimes it's during snack, nap, outdoor play, etc). This way everyone, children and staff, learn the escape routes well and can use them at any time they need to. | Besides at school, where else do you think there should be fire drills? |
| 5 | The exits are posted. But most people don't look at these signs. Even assuming they do know where the emergency exits are, if there's an emergency they're still going to panic if they haven't practiced the route(s). The point of these drills is that everyone learns how to get out quickly and safely. | Besides at school, where else do you think there should be fire drills? |
| 6 | I don't think thumb rings look good on anyone, male or female, but I don't dislike them enough to call them a turnoff. | Thumb Rings on Men |
| 7 | Definitely barefoot. I can't stand wearing anything on my feet, and only do so when absolutely necessary. | Socks or Barefoot-- Which do you prefer? |
| 8 | Shoveling the 4 foot high snow drift that was in front of my gate (couldn't open it to take out the trash).
Overall it was a pretty boring day. | What is the most exciting thing that you've done since you last woke up? |
| 9 | Ooooh, okay. I change my answer to eating a huge bowl of vanilla ice cream with strawberry sauce, chocolate sauce, and banana slices.
Beats shoveling snow any day. | What is the most exciting thing that you've done since you last woke up? |
| 10 | I haven't needed to do any of these. I've actually increased my spending since the recession started (mainly because I bought a house).
I've always been thrifty. Before I owned this house I put away about 2/3 of my paycheck into savings. Now it's about 1/3, but that's still a good chunk. | What ways have you used to economize? |
