1Bill - "fewer" is the correct word to use for countable items; "less" is meant to be used for non-countable quantities. For example, I may have *fewer* items in my cart, but there is *less* milk in my glass (than yours). I, too, hate when "I" is used where "me" belongs. :)Grammar
2I don't remember which album was my first, but it was probably a Beatle's album, as that's about all I listened to in my early teens. It was undoubtedly on vinyl, CD's not having been invented yet, and only having had a record player in the house (until I started buying my own equipment, that is)What were the first albums/singles you ever bought with your own money? And what media were they on?
3Of the ones given, I chose Astra (despite the associations with Flondrix). However, had either of my children been a girl, the name we had chosen was Sarah (middle name Denise).What's the coolest name for a girl?
4"Singles - 45's and Under" was on my personal playlist in college. . .
I once worked with someone who claimed that Genesis was alternative. Perhaps true in the 70's, but this was in the late 80's!

5Mainly because I never got around to re-registering after moving. I'm registered now, though!

Resy - thanks for the reminder! I did vote for McGovern, in my 3rd grade mock-election! I think I may have been the only one in my class who did, and everybody knew, becuase they saw me looking to see how it was spelled.

Did you vote for President Clinton in the last election?
6How about:

(x==1)?printf("The value is %d.\n",x),y=x:x;

Seriously, though, I agree with Bill on this one. Having a brace by itself on a line just seems silly, to me.

Which of these computer programming language statement do you find more aesthetically pleasing?
7Spare the rod and spoil the child ... Please!

I wholeheartedly agree with LisaShea's comments on this issue. The distinction between "hitting" and "spanking" is not one that I believe would be understood by most children, and they will likely emulate the violent behaviour and apply it inappropriately. Emotional abuse is equally prone to teaching inappropriate behaviour, so methods which minimize both while communicating the desired behaviour(s) are preferable.

I just realized I need to do some research of my own.

Would you/have you ever spanked your child?
8I've always found it easier to stay up late than to get up early. I think my body wants days to be 28-32 hours long. * wink * Are you a "morning person" or a "night owl"?
9I don't drink coffee, so it would certainly be last. Milk needs to be fresh from the refrigerator, or it tastes sour to me, so it is 2 on the list. This leaves Tea as #1 by default more than anything else.If offered "Coffee, tea or milk?", what is the order of your preference?
10Didn't know what "BMI" was before this survey. Is it just me, or do the ranges seem awfully wide? My BMI would be in the same range of the ones given if I were 20% lighter (which I was 10 years ago) and 1" taller (which I used to think I was), and still not be within 1 unit of the either endpoint of the range!What is your BMI?
