That's good to know! I missed that message, thanks TJM!

Okay, who's the joker who decided it would be funny to make 50 state capital surveys? Please get a life. This series of surveys is going to put the qualification system to the test I think. People (me included) are going to needs work these things whether they're reasonable or not (and a few have already done so). It may technically be an abuse of the qualification system to do so, but I sense that many people are reaching a state of "enough is enough with these crap surveys already." With any luck Bill will agree and not penalize the protesters, but he'd certainly be in his right to do otherwise. I encourage the creator of these surveys to delete them now.

That's definitely it. If I type in www.surveycentral.org, I'm logged in. If I strip out the www, I'm not logged in. Bingo.

I have cookies fully enabled. It only happens from that one link, and it just happened again two minutes ago so I know it wasn't a fluke. Right after editing a survey and confirming it, it's the link on the next page that says something like "to view your survey" blah blah.

Then why conceal the name of the survey creator in the first place?

It's not a matter of writing too many surveys, Richard. It's a matter of writing too many pointless surveys. Why not a survey asking "Do you have eggs in your fridge?" Who freaking cares? Try being a bit more selective. I mean come on, do you own a radio?!? Should children be taught to protect the environment?!? I'm sorry, but these are just stupid questions. The answers are either obvious or useless. What are you going to do with the knowledge that almost everyone here has a radio? I know you can make good surveys, I've seen you do it; but you don't appear discriminate at all. It's like every question you can think of becomes a survey. Do you really care if I've submitted a website to a search engine this week?

Bill, I notice that when you use the "Pick a Creator" selector, it shows you surveys that you haven't looked at yet if there are any. Seems like this defeats the purpose of concealing the creator's name on uncompleted surveys.

"Meta" means that the survey is about Survey Central. There are a few people who believe that meta-surveys are inherently evil, though not one of them has ever explained why. It is not a valid reason to mark an unqualified survey "needs work" but sometimes it happens anyway.

bill, how difficult would it be to set up a SurveySelector for New Unqualified? This would let a user see the unqual surveys that he/she hasn't voted on, or that have received additional votes/comments since he/she last viewed it, while hiding those that have not changed.

I rarely use the chat feature because the interface is so clunky. But I don't see a reason to get rid of it entirely if it's not taking up resources or something. I like the forum a lot though.
