On the one hand, I am flattered that I made the list, on the other hand, I don't really care one way or the other.
I see I made it in the top 16, but not in the top 5. Which is more or less where I would want to be.
(a little bit of context: wicksy came up with this idea while we were in chat. Had it not been for me just being there at the right moment, I probably wouldn't have made it either. It was a spur of the moment type of deal, as Wicksy was talking about his posts. So I wouldn't take it too personally.) | southernyankee

Also, I too have a list of my favorite people on SC. The list is however, inside my head. | llamamama

Or valentines to only half the class!
It's much classier if you invite only half the kids to a birthday party but you mail the invitations. | cerealkiller

Ahh, but you're being rude and potentially hurting those who didn't make your favorites list. You don't want creatures hurt physically but mental cruelty is okay?
Ranking users here and broadcasting it to the world is essentially the same as the reverse: naming those on your "crap list" and everyone else is acceptable.
Or, me favoring 3 or 4 cats and the other XX just "being there" and ignored. I make a point of greeting every one of them, petting them, asking them how they feel every day. | Iseult

My mum would always go and contact the parents of my classmates that I wanted to invite to my birthday party so other kids don't feel left out. | cerealkiller

Yeah, and some of them who hide I don't always see every day. It's hard when I have to spend extra time with the sick and dieing ones, the one's needing hand feeding or special foods, one's who will only eat one thing and only if you sit there with them while they eat. It is very time consuming and we feel like we're running a cat restaurant. Drives me crazy trying to remember which can of food each one likes or doesn't like. | llamamama

That's never happened to me. I remember my brother invited all the boys in his class his second grade to his party. I thought there were too many 2nd grade boys (I was 4th grade)...so I left..to hang out with my friend (a 5th grade boy).irony. | cloudhugger

Ahh I see...now I am guilty of mental cruelty????? It gets better every day.
I think some people may need to grow up, because if as adults, they cannot accept being off a shout out list, then maybe they need counselling! Seriously!!!

I'd like to perhaps suggest that a person who "creates" a shout-out list may have a little growing up to do, himself. Otherwise it's likely that he'll find himself getting a swirly and/or beaten up after homeroom. | llamamama

Man Scott, I was going to say that.
You know who makes lists about their favorite people? Middle School girls.
Adults don't do that...ever. It's not a matter of everyone else needing to grow up. It's a matter of you needing to grow up. Why don't you act like the adult you think you are, you sassy 13 year old girl, you. | cerealkiller

It's not about growing up but being polite and as you say, not being a 13 year old girl. Of course, it goes with the Brit stereotype at least I have - sissy boys, stuffy, wimps, no sense of humor. | labjog

I don't know, my Grandpa was a Brit and he had a sense of humor, a bit different maybe, but a sense of humor. I think W just failed some part of his maturing process, I'd say when he's about 60 he will have learned how to comunicate with people without playing his head games, but then, that'sjust my thoughts on the matter. | cerealkiller

Well, I probably do need to grow up.
Upon attacking the youth director at my church with silly string and cleaning it up..He said something like, "Well, you shouldn't of attacked me" (he was joking-ish). To which I replied, "Hey, you attacked me, too. And who's the adult here? The decision making portion of my brain isn't fully developed yet." "Yeah, no kidding"

I think some of you people are freaking out a bit over the list. Its just a stupid list, why do you care if you're on it or not. It doesn't mean anything anyway. And no, I am not saying that just because I am on it.
Oh yeah, and making lists is a bit 13-year-oldish. South Park even had an episode "the List". In case you've seen it, the exact same scenario is playing out right here. Go figure. | llamamama

It's not whether you're not on the list - if I was going for universal popularity I would't've said half the things I say on regular basis. It's just common courtesy. Some people just don't get it, but that's okay, not everybody was raised with same values. | Wicksy
