Tmz.com just announced Michael Jackson is dead.
He was a talented man.

I would be affected if one of my favorite musicians died. |

I cry every time I hear a soldier dies. Honest. |

Wuss. Typical female. My wife even cries if one of our stupid generic aquarium fish dies. I try to scoop them out and flush them before she notices.
You cry when you hear about someone murdered, a cop killed in the line of duty, someone raped and killed? Do you cry when you look at the obituaries? Same thing. I respect the military but it makes it no more special if a soldier dies than if someone falls in the canal and drowns down the street (happened here the other day). |

Let's just say it is compassion. I might not cry if you died. I'd be sad at a waste of life, but I'm doing that now. |

If I die it matters not if anyone cries. It is in my Will that there will be no ceremony, no memorial, no nothing. My ashes are to be spread out in the desert in Tucson. Hmm, that way my wife won't be able to fulfill her wish of dancing on my grave. |

Tell her to bring lots of water if she ever decides to dance in the desert.

I agree to a point with CK, you just get desensitized to the war in Afghanistan..... and I note it/feel it more when MJ died as I grew up with him as an artist in the 80's. wrong? I know .......Matty spells it out in his usual frank way, but if he wasn't a military person would he be like you and me?
In Jamaica...a couple of years back we had the highest per-capita murder rate in the world for a country NOT at war...we are 3 million people and murder about 1200 people per year. But I just shrug.
I live in a gated community, with 3 dogs, armed rapid response, burglar bars on every window, inside grilled gate on the back door, I have a grilled gate that separates the upstairs from thr downstairs and is locked at night so even if by some miracle people break-in they cannot get upstairs, My skylight is burglar barred.......... if you had told me 16yrs ago this is how I would live if I moved here I would have stayed in the UK...but over the years I just got desensitized to it and it just seems "normal" to me

I'm desensitized with the war too, but I think if someone else is able to get upset about it, I would just comfort them with open arms, rather than chew them out for it. |
